Mile Bush Pride had been bought for £2,500 for the 1958 English Greyhound Derby by Wembley trainer Jack Harvey for owner Noel Purvis, a shipping magnate.{{cite news|title=Monthly Greyhound Star (Remember When 1960) June edition|newspaper=Greyhound Star}} The brindle greyhound reached the final but finished in third place from a bad trap draw in a race considered to be one of the strongest in the history of the competition.{{cite book|last=Dack|first=Barrie|title=Greyhound Derby, the first 60 years |pages= 104/105/106|year=1990|publisher=Ringpress Books|isbn=0-948955-36-8}}

In 1959 Mile Bush Pride won the triple crown, he was aimed at the 1959 English Greyhound Derby as the ante post favourite and duly won the event.{{cite book|last=Dack|first=Barrie|title=Greyhound Derby, the first 60 years |pages= 106/107|year=1990|publisher=Ringpress Books|isbn=0-948955-36-8}} He then secured the Scottish Greyhound Derby and Welsh Greyhound Derby.
In addition to the triple crown he won the Pall Mall and Select Stakes and Cesarewitch in 1959.

Retirement
