Duties

History
The ministry was established in 2002{{cite web|title=History|url=http://ec.europa.eu/transport/modes/air/events/doc/eu_africa/session_6_cairo.pdf|work=Ministry of Civil Aviation|access-date=20 October 2013}} by separating out the responsibilities for civil aviation from the Ministry of Transport and Communications. The Ministry of Civil Aviation is headquartered in Cairo.
