History
Moholmen Lighthouse was originally built in 1914. The original tower was moved to the island of Tranøy in Hamarøy Municipality in 1936. A new tower was built at Moholmen, and that tower was automated in 1974. The current tower is {{convert|13.3|m}} tall, and at the top there is a white, red or green light (depending on direction), occulting twice every 8 seconds. The 54,900-candela light can be seen for up to {{convert|13.5|nmi|km mi|abbr=on}}. The white tower is cast iron and built in a square pyramidal shape.{{cite web|url=http://www.fyr.no/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=486:tranoy-fyrstasjon&catid=112:nordland&Itemid=587 |publisher=Norsk Fyrhistorisk Forening |title=Tranøy fyrstasjon |language=Norwegian |accessdate=14 December 2011}}{{cite book|year=2011|url=http://www.kystverket.no/PageFiles/7617/Norsk%20Fyrliste,%20Region%204%20(Nordland)%2026.10.2011.pdf|format=PDF|author=Kystverket|authorlink=Norwegian Coastal Administration|language=Norwegian|title=Norske Fyrliste 2011|isbn=9788245010398|url-status=dead|archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20120402040222/http://www.kystverket.no/PageFiles/7617/Norsk%20Fyrliste%2C%20Region%204%20%28Nordland%29%2026.10.2011.pdf|archivedate=2012-04-02}}
