Montenars ({{Langx|sl|Gorjani|label=Slovene}}) is a {{lang|it|comune}} (municipality) in the Regional decentralization entity of Udine in the Italian region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, located about {{convert|80|km|mi}} northwest of Trieste and about {{convert|20|km|mi}} north of Udine. {{as of|31 December 2004}}, it had a population of 554 and an area of {{convert|20.6|km2|mi2}}.All demographics and other statistics: Italian statistical institute Istat.

Montenars borders the following municipalities: Artegna, Gemona del Friuli, Lusevera, Magnano in Riviera, Tarcento.
