"Move to Memphis" is a song by Norwegian band A-ha, which was released in October 1991 as a single from their greatest hits album Headlines and Deadlines: The Hits of A-ha (1991). It was written by Paul Waaktaar-Savoy and Magne Furuholmen, and produced by A-ha.{{cite web|author=Mike DeGagne |url=https://www.allmusic.com/album/headlines-and-deadline-the-best-of-a-ha-mw0000463234 |title=Headlines and Deadline: The Hits of A-ha – a-ha |website=AllMusic |access-date=16 April 2018}} "Move to Memphis" reached number two in Norway and number 47 in the United Kingdom.
In 1991, A-ha had started writing new material for their fifth studio album Memorial Beach when A-ha's label, Warner Bros., suggested releasing a compilation album. The label wanted the band to provide one or two new songs for the compilation and "Move to Memphis" was then recorded for inclusion on the album.{{cite web|url=https://www.discogs.com/a-ha-Memorial-Beach/release/7661032 |title=a-ha - Memorial Beach (CD, Album, Album) at Discogs |publisher=Discogs.com |access-date=16 April 2018}} To promote its release as a single, a music video was filmed, directed by Erick Ifergan and starring French actress Beatrice Dalle.{{cite web|url=https://www.discogs.com/a-ha-Headlines-And-Deadlines-The-Hits-Of-A-ha/release/2042846 |title=a-ha - Headlines And Deadlines - The Hits Of A-ha (DVD) at Discogs |publisher=Discogs.com |access-date=16 April 2018}} A new version of the song would appear on Memorial Beach, released in 1993.{{cite web|author=William Ruhlmann |url=https://www.allmusic.com/album/memorial-beach-mw0000098043 |title=Memorial Beach - a-ha | Songs, Reviews, Credits |publisher=AllMusic |access-date=16 April 2018}} It was produced by David Z and A-ha.{{cite web|url=http://www.45worlds.com/cdalbum/cd/9362452292 |title=CD Album - A-Ha - Memorial Beach - Warner Bros. - Europe |publisher=45worlds.com |access-date=16 April 2018}}
