Artistry
Although she has not written any songs in Cebuano, she credited Vispop for being her "gateway" to music in an interview with Billboard Philippines Kara Angan. Angan also credited the genre for molding Mrld's lyricism.{{Cite web | date=February 18, 2024 | url=https://billboardphilippines.com/music/discover/mrld-goes-beyond-an-art-gallery-could-never-be-as-unique-as-you-interview-2024/ | title=Mrld Goes Beyond 'An Art Gallery Could Never Be As Unique As You' | first=Kara | last=Angan | website=Billboard Philippines | archive-url=https://ghostarchive.org/archive/a3xpY | archive-date=December 16, 2024 |url-status=live|quote=Meriel De Jesus takes pride in her Cebuano heritage, using her exposure to Bisaya pop to craft lyrics that resonate with people's lives. [...] Her affinity for lyrics like 'But let me tell you, don't go too far / And just enjoy this artistic room of ours / This empty canvas that they misunderstood / I wanna paint you in it but I'm not good' comes from the environment in Cebu that she grew up with: Vispop.}}
