Munidopsis serricornis is a species of squat lobster. It is widely distributed in the world's oceans, being found in the eastern Atlantic Ocean (from Iceland and Norway to the Cape Verde Islands), the western Atlantic Ocean (from the United States to the Gulf of Mexico), and the Indo-Pacific (from Australia and the Malay Archipelago to Madagascar).{{cite journal |url=http://scientiamarina.revistas.csic.es/index.php/scientiamarina/article/viewFile/729/746 |title=Species of Galacantha and Munidopsis (Crustacea: Decapoda: Anomura: Galatheidae) from the deep-waters off Taiwan, with the description of two new species |author1=Masayuki Osawa, Chia-Wei Lin |author2=Tin-Yam Chan |name-list-style=amp |journal=Scientia Marina |volume=72 |issue=1 |year=2008 |pages=37–57 |doi=10.3989/scimar.2008.72n137|doi-access=free }} It grows up to a carapace length of {{convert|20|mm|in|1}}.{{cite web |url=http://www.artdata.slu.se/rodlista/Faktablad/muni_ser.PDF |title=Munidopsis serricornis – Trollhumrar |publisher=Sveriges Lantbruksuniversitet |language=Swedish |author=Matz Berggren |year=2006 }}{{Dead link|date=April 2020 |bot=InternetArchiveBot |fix-attempted=yes }}

M. serricornis was the first species of the current genus Munidopsis to be described, when Sven Lovén described it (as Galathea serricornis) in 1852. It was described independently in 1857 under the name Galathea tridentata by Laurits Esmark.{{cite journal |url=http://decapoda.nhm.org/pdfs/19139/19139.pdf |journal=Zootaxa |volume=1417 |pages=1–135 |year=2007 |title=Species of the genus Munidopsis Whiteaves, 1784 from the Indian and Pacific Oceans and reestablishment of the genus Galacantha A.
