New Gods (vol. 5) is an ongoing comic book series written by Ram V and primarily illustrated by Evan Cagle. It began as a part of DC's All-In initiative following Absolute Power. It features the titular New Gods following the death of Darkseid, and a prophecy regarding a child that could either bring salvation, or destruction.

The comic has received critical and commercial praise for evolving on the concepts of the original Fourth World series, the art, and the faithful and well-developed characterization of characters.{{Cite web |last=Perry |first=Ryan |date=2024-12-18 |title=The New Gods #1 review |url=https://aiptcomics.com/2024/12/18/the-new-gods-1-review/ |access-date=2025-01-22 |language=en-us}}{{Cite news |date=2024-12-18 |title=Review: THE NEW GODS #1 — Worlds Apart |url=https://monkeysfightingrobots.co/review-the-new-gods-1-worlds-apart/ |archive-url=http://web.archive.org/web/20250117022820/https://monkeysfightingrobots.co/review-the-new-gods-1-worlds-apart/ |archive-date=2025-01-17 |access-date=2025-01-22 |language=en-US}}

The series was announced at San Diego Comic Con 2024 alongside DC's Absolute line of comics.

Ram V has stated that his run is going to be based on fatherhood with the theme of old and new generations, and will take more influence from Hindu Mythology, with gods being more nuanced in their actions and feelings.{{Cite web |last=Brooke |first=David |date=2024-11-14 |title=Rediscovering humanity in the cosmos: Ram V on bringing heart to 'The New Gods' • AIPT |url=https://aiptcomics.com/2024/11/14/the-new-gods-ram-v-qa/ |access-date=2025-01-22 |language=en-us}} V felt that after their earlier collaboration on the indie comic Dawnrunner, Cagle would be excellent with the art to suit the book's style and scope.{{Cite web |last=Salkowitz |first=Rob |title=Ram V Lays Out His Cosmic Vision For DC's New Gods |url=https://www.forbes.com/sites/robsalkowitz/2024/11/13/ram-v-lays-out-his-cosmic-vision-for-dcs-new-gods/ |access-date=2025-01-22 |website=Forbes |language=en}}
