It is the seat of the gmina (administrative district) called Gmina Niechanowo.{{TERYT}} It lies approximately {{convert|10|km|mi|0}} south-east of Gniezno and {{convert|53|km|mi|0|abbr=on}} east of the regional capital Poznań.
