Composition and lyrics

"No Love" is a pop-inspired "unflinchingly raw, exquisitely pretty R&B" song that sees Summer Walker and SZA "regret defending a man who isn't worth it", as Walker sings in the third verse: "Tried to act like I wasn't good enough in your eyes / Funny now that you callin', that you ringin' my line".{{cite web |title= Summer Walker: Still Over It Album Review |url= https://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/summer-walker-still-over-it/|last=Paige|first=Deasia|work=Pitchfork|date=November 10, 2021|accessdate=March 7, 2022}} The chorus of the song "works as a mantra" as Walker sings: "All I wanna do is fuck, get drunk, take drugs".{{cite web |url=https://www.stereogum.com/2169206/the-50-best-albums-of-2021/lists/year-in-review/2021-in-review/ |title=Best Albums of 2021|work=Stereogum |date=December 6, 2021 |access-date=March 7, 2022|author=Stereogum}} They complain about the time that was wasted because of "emotional intimacy" not happening, "promising to only involve themselves in no-strings-attached relationships in the future" over the "groovy" bass-heavy production of the song, which is intended to "provide a foil to the two singers' voices, grants the pair room to display the full-range of their vocal talents".{{Cite web|url=https://hiphopdx.com/reviews/id.3805/title.summer-walker-still-over-it-album-review|title=Review - Summer Walker 'Still Over It' Spins Personal Turmoil Into Gold - Or Platinum|website=HipHopDX|last=Ritchie|first=Matthew|date=November 23, 2021|accessdate=March 7, 2022}}

Critical reception

Writing for Clash, Josh Abraham wrote that "No Love" is "simply magnificent" and that "the soft, yet addictive vocals on this beautifully put together track allows for both artists to swim in harmony with each other".{{cite web|url=https://www.clashmusic.com/reviews/summer-walker-still-over-it|title=Summer Walker - Still Over It|work=Clash|last=Abraham|first=Josh|date=November 5, 2021|access-date=March 7, 2022}} Meagan Jordan of Rolling Stone described the song as "a sex anthem about the need to sometimes 'fuck, get drunk,' without the messy emotions that could come with attachment".{{cite magazine|url=https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-album-reviews/summer-walker-still-over-it-1254788/

|title=Summer Walker is Literally Over It|magazine=Rolling Stone|last=Jordan|first=Meagan|date=November 8, 2021|access-date=March 7, 2022}} Kiana Fitzgerald of NPR Music felt that "Summer Walker's collaborations with other women stand out on the album", citing "the intentionally detached nature of" the song.{{Cite web |title=Best R&B Albums of 2021 |url=https://www.npr.org/2021/12/09/1062100608/the-best-r-b-albums-of-2021|access-date=March 7, 2022|website=NPR Music|date=December 9, 2021}}
