Not the Tremblin' Kind is the debut studio album by the American singer-songwriter Laura Cantrell.{{Cite web|url=https://www.countrystandardtime.com/d/article.asp?xid=325|title=Laura Cantrell isn't the trembling kind|website=www.countrystandardtime.com}} It was released in 2000 on Diesel Only Records.{{Cite web|url=https://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=1123090|title='Not the Tremblin' Kind'|website=NPR.org}} The album bears a dedication to "the original Beverly Hillbilly", Zeke Manners.

Critical reception

Pitchfork wrote: "Although not a flawless album, Not the Tremblin' Kind can still measure up pretty well to most of the revered alt-country releases of the last decade: albums such as Freakwater's Old Paint, the Blood Oranges' Corn River, and Victoria Williams' Loose." The Record praised Cantrell's "winning urban honky-tonk-angel sensibility."{{cite news |last1=DeLuca |first1=Dan |title=QUICK SPINS |work=The Record |date=19 Jan 2001 |location=LIFESTYLE / PREVIEWS |page=33}}

Shortly after its release, John Peel named the album as possibly one of the favorites of his life.{{Cite web|url=https://magnetmagazine.com/2014/01/27/laura-cantrell-forward-progress/|title=Laura Cantrell: Forward Progress|date=January 27, 2014}}
