It was released in Australia on 28 March 2014 through the band's own imprint Casual Workout via Inertia.{{cite web|url=http://www.inertia-music.com/2014/01/architecture-in-helsinki-set-to-release-album-now4eva/|title=Architecture In Helsinki Set To Release Highly Anticipated Album 'NOW + 4EVA' - Inertia|publisher=Inertia|accessdate=7 March 2014|url-status=dead|archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20140306233847/http://www.inertia-music.com/2014/01/architecture-in-helsinki-set-to-release-album-now4eva/|archivedate=6 March 2014}} The group also embarked on a tour of the east coast of Australia in support of the album. Online pre-orders of the album from retailer JB Hi-Fi included a signed, printed "zine" detailing the band's inspirations.{{cite web|url=http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/music/alternative/now-4eva-bonus-signed-zine/697839|title=NOW + 4EVA (Bonus Signed Zine)|publisher=JB Hi-Fi|accessdate=7 March 2014}}
Two singles, "In the Future" and "Dream a Little Crazy", were released ahead of the album in 2013. Third single "I Might Survive", which Stereogum called "a smooth, percussive, horn-laden disco track", was released on 21 February 2014.{{cite web|url=http://www.stereogum.com/1666166/architecture-in-helsinki-i-might-survive-stereogum-premiere/mp3s/|title=Architecture In Helsinki – "I Might Survive" (Stereogum Premiere) - Stereogum|work=Stereogum|publisher=Spin Media|author=DeVille, Chris|date=21 February 2014|accessdate=7 March 2014}} A music video for "Dream a Little Crazy" was released on 28 January and depicts what Noisey described as a "biological bakery".{{cite web|url=http://noisey.vice.com/en_au/blog/lucy-mcrae-and-architecture-in-helsinki-create-a-biological-bakery-in-dream-a-little-crazy|title=Lucy McRae And Architecture In Helsinki Create A Biological Bakery in "Dream A Little Crazy"|work=Noisey|date=29 January 2014|accessdate=7 March 2014}}
Frontman Cameron Bird stated in March 2014 that the album had been finished for "almost a year".{{cite web|url=http://www.moshtix.com.au/v2/news/musicnews/architecture-in-helsinki-talk-now-4eva-and-edible-band-members/26712|title=Music News | Architecture In Helsinki Talk 'NOW + 4EVA' And Edible Band Members | moshtix|publisher=Moshtix|author=Clifford, Tara|date=18 March 2014|accessdate=24 March 2014|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20160304042853/http://www.moshtix.com.au/v2/news/musicnews/architecture-in-helsinki-talk-now-4eva-and-edible-band-members/26712|archive-date=4 March 2016|url-status=dead}} Now + 4eva also includes a cover of the song "When You Walk in the Room", originally written and sung by Jackie DeShannon, but more famously covered by English band The Searchers.
The album received generally mixed, if slightly negative reviews.
