Fictional character biography
In the 30th century, Darkseid steals the abilities of Mordru and the Time Trapper to enthrall the population of Daxam. He then transports the planet to a star system with a yellow sun, giving the Daxamites powers equivalent to those of Superman. The enslaved Daxamites wreak havoc throughout United Planets territory, with one of them – a child named Ol-Vir – attacking the prison planet Takron-Galtos.Legion of Super-Heroes (vol. 2) #294 (December 1982) Chameleon Boy defeats Ol-Vir while Darkseid retreats after losing control of the Daxamites.
Sometime later, Nemesis Kid leads the Legion of Super-Villains in attacking the Legion. Ol-Vir participates in the attack, but is defeated when Element Lad transmutes his costume into lead - a Daxamite's primary weakness.Legion of Super-Heroes (vol. 3) #1-5 (August–December 1984) He and Validus later attack the Legion, during which Saturn Girl realizes that Validus is her and Lightning Lad's son, who Darkseid transformed into a monster.{{efn|As depicted in Legion of Super-Heroes (vol. 2) Annual #3 (1984)}} Disappointed by Ol-Vir's failure, Darkseid kills him.Legion of Super-Heroes (vol. 3) Annual #2 (October 1986)
In Infinite Crisis, most of the Legion's original continuity is restored, resurrecting Ol-Vir in the process.Final Crisis: Legion of 3 Worlds #2-3 (November 2008-April 2009)
Powers and abilities
{{Unsourced|section|date=January 2025}}
Generally, the abilities of Ol-Vir (and other Daxamites) are identical to those of Superman and other natives of the planet Krypton (super-strength; speed; flight; x-ray, heat, microscopic and telescopic vision powers; invulnerability and super hearing). However, they are vulnerable to lead rather than Kryptonite.
