Its holotype's carapace measures {{Convert|72|mm|in|abbr=on}} long and {{Convert|78|mm|in|abbr=on}} wide, and it has been found at a depth of {{Convert|1281|m|ft|abbr=on}}. At the time of its discovery in 1988, it was the only member of Paralomis found in Indonesia.
