Per Gunnar Jonson (11 April 1910 – 16 October 1975) was a Norwegian cinematographer and ski jumper.{{cite encyclopedia |encyclopedia=Store norske leksikon |title=Per G. Cinematography

Jonson shot a short film about skiing in Karpathos, which impressed German director Leni Riefenstahl, and she hired him as an assistant director for the 1936 Winter Olympics in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. He primarily worked as a cinematographer on Norwegian films, in addition to occasionally working as a director and producer. At the end of his career he established his own film production company.

Ski jumping

In 1934, Per Jonson participated in an international competition at the Bloudek Giant in Planica, making a jump {{convert|80|m|sp=us}} long.{{cite news |title=Leteča Norvežana sta zmagala |url=https://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:DOC-RVAQAAM3/3e13350f-26cf-40c8-bc08-a90a25cfdc5d/PDF |accessdate=August 9, 2019 |work=Slovenski narod |date=March 26, 1934 |page=1}} In another jump, outside the competition, he landed at {{convert|88.5|m|sp=us}} with a fall.

His was one of the best ski jumpers of his time, competing together with legends such as Birger Ruud and his brother Sigmund Ruud. In 1933, he coached the Polish national ski jumping team in Zakopane.
