Peramus is an extinct genus of cladotherian mammal. It lived in the Late Jurassic and Early Cretaceous of Europe and North Africa.
Species
There are three known extinct species in the genus:{{Cite web|title=Fossilworks: Peramus|url=https://paleobiodb.org/classic/checkTaxonInfo?taxon_no=39884|access-date=17 December 2021|website=fossilworks.org}}

- Peramus minor Lulworth Formation, United Kingdom, Berriasian

Phylogeny
Peramus is generally considered an advanced cladotherian. In the analysis performed by Panciroli and colleagues (2018), Peramus was recovered as within a clade also including Palaeoxonodon and Amphitherium, as derived members of Cladotheria. Peramus, Palaeoxonodon and Amphitherium were united by the shared traits of "convergence of the Meckel’s sulcus with the ventral border of the mandible; and possessing open rooted postcanines." but the placement of Peramus as a more advanced cladotherian cannot be ruled out.{{Cite web|title=New partial dentaries of amphitheriid mammalian Palaeoxonodon ooliticus from Scotland, and posterior dentary morphology in early cladotherians - Acta Palaeontologica Polonica|url=https://www.app.pan.pl/article/item/app004342017.html|access-date=2021-02-08|website=www.app.pan.pl|language=en}} In a 2018 analysis by Bi and colleagues, Peramus was recovered in a clade with Palaeoxonodon and Nanolestes also as advanced cladotherians.{{Cite journal|last1=Bi|first1=Shundong|last2=Zheng|first2=Xiaoting|last3=Wang|first3=Xiaoli|last4=Cignetti|first4=Natalie E.|last5=Yang|first5=Shiling|last6=Wible|first6=John R.|date=June 2018|title=An Early Cretaceous eutherian and the placental–marsupial dichotomy|url=https://www.nature.com/articles/s41586-018-0210-3|journal=Nature|language=en|volume=558|issue=7710|pages=390–395|doi=10.1038/s41586-018-0210-3|pmid=29899454 |s2cid=91737831 |issn=1476-4687|url-access=subscription}} In a 2022 study of cladotherian relationships, it was recovered as a member of Zatheria, closer to Theria than either Palaeoxonodon and Nanolestes.{{Cite journal |last1=Lasseron |first1=Maxime |last2=Martin |first2=Thomas |last3=Allain |first3=Ronan |last4=Haddoumi |first4=Hamid |last5=Jalil |first5=Nour-Eddine |last6=Zouhri |first6=Samir |last7=Gheerbrant |first7=Emmanuel |date=2022-06-02 |title=An African Radiation of 'Dryolestoidea' (Donodontidae, Cladotheria) and its Significance for Mammalian Evolution |url=https://link.springer.com/10.1007/s10914-022-09613-9 |journal=Journal of Mammalian Evolution |volume=29 |issue=4 |pages=733–761 |language=en |doi=10.1007/s10914-022-09613-9 |s2cid=249324444 |issn=1064-7554}}
