Physalaemus is a large genus of leptodactylid frogs. These frogs, sometimes known as dwarf frogs or foam frogs, are found in South America.{{cite web |url=http://research.amnh.org/vz/herpetology/amphibia/Amphibia/Anura/Leptodactylidae/Leiuperinae/Physalaemus |title=Physalaemus Fitzinger, 1826 |author=Frost, Darrel R. |year=2016 |work=Amphibian Species of the World: an Online Reference.
