In April, 2019 a newly constructed pier was inaugurated for the fishing community of Yabucoa.{{cite web | title=Inauguran muelle de Villa Pesquera en Playa Guayanés | website=Victoria840 | date=2019-04-13 | url=https://www.victoria840.com/inauguran-muelle-de-villa-pesquera-en-playa-guayanes/ | language=es | access-date=2020-11-01}}
