In Puerto Rico, there are 78 municipalities and 902 municipio subdivisions made up of 827 barrios and 75 barrios-pueblo.{{efn|Those barrios called "barrio-pueblo" were called "{{lang|es|pueblo}}" until they were renamed "barrio-pueblo" by the US 1990 US Census. However, the locals, who don't work with the Census, still call it just "pueblo", or "{{lang|es|el pueblo}}" (the pueblo)}} There are also a number of subbarrios and communities.
