Precise Time and Time Interval
{{Short description|Standard for highly accurate timing information}}
Precise Time and Time Interval (PTTI) is a Department of Defense military and Global Positioning System standard which details a mechanism and waveform for distributing highly accurate timing information.[http://everyspec.com/DoD/DoD-STD/DOD-STD-1399_441_25602/ DOD-STD-1399-441; United States Department of Defense.][https://navcen.uscg.gov/sites/default/files/pdf/gps/ICD-GPS-060B.pdf]ICD-GPS-060B: GPS User Equipment (Phase III) Interface Control Document for the Pecise Time and Time Interval (PTTI) Interface, Global Positioning System Joint Program Office, 2002
It is similar to pulse per second (PPS) because it indicates the start of each second using a pulse. PTTI also provides the full Time Of Day (TOD) in hours, minutes, and seconds.
