Progression Through Unlearning is the second studio album by American hardcore punk band Snapcase. The album was released on April 8, 1997 through Victory Records.

Background and recording

The album was recorded over a two-week period in January 1997 at the Trax Studios in Union City, New Jersey, and was produced by Steve Evetts. The band retrospectively shared how during the recording process, guitarist Jon Salemi was sick with the chickenpox.{{cite web |last1=Jacobs |first1=Ansley |title=HARDCORE: On Track Or On Stage, Jon Salemi Pushes The Limits |url=https://dragillustrated.com/hardcore-on-track-or-on-stage-jon-salemi-pushes-the-limits/ |website=Drag Illustrated |access-date=June 29, 2024 |date=December 14, 2016}} Ten years following the release, the band jokingly admitted the process of recording and mastering the album was rushed, but blamed their adolescence of rushing through the album.{{cite web |last1=Jones |first1=Janelle |title=Snapcase - Interview |url=http://www.ampmagazine.com/index.php/interviews/comments/snapcase/ |website=AMP Interview |access-date=June 29, 2024 |date=January 9, 2008 |archive-date=June 13, 2008 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20080613201621/http://www.ampmagazine.com/index.php/interviews/comments/snapcase/ |url-status=bot: unknown }}
