Prunus pedunculata is a species of Prunus known in China as long{{nbh}}peduncled almond (长梗扁桃). It is native to China (particularly the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region), Mongolia and nearby sections of Siberia. A small bush, reaching 1-2{{nbsp}}m, its pink flowers allow it to be used as an ornamental. Adapted to cold, arid environments, its many{{nbh}}stemmed growth habit fixes blowing sand, an important contribution to succession.{{cite book |year=1999 |editor1-last=Gunin |editor1-first=P.D. |editor2-last=Vostokova |editor2-first=Elizabeth A. |editor3-last=Dorofeyuk |editor3-first=Nadezhda I. |editor4-last=Tarasov |editor4-first=Pavel E. |editor5-last=Black |editor5-first=Clanton C. |title=Vegetation Dynamics of Mongolia |page=104 |publisher=Springer |isbn=9789401591430}} As Amygdalus pedunculatus Pall., it seems to be being evaluated for its seed oil potential.{{cite journal |last1=Du |first1=Xuanli |last2=Yang |first2=Fan |last3=Lou |first3=Lijuan |last4=Wu |first4=Wenpeng |last5=Zhang |first5=Hanfang |date=June 2012 |title=Development and research advance of Amygdalus pedunculatus Pall. seed oil |url=http://en.cnki.com.cn/Article_en/CJFDTOTAL-LSSP201206019.htm |journal=Cereal & Food Industry |access-date=23 July 2018}}{{Cite web|url=https://plants.usda.gov/core/profile?symbol=PRPE5|title = USDA Plants Database}}
