Ran-binding protein 3 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the RANBP3 gene.{{cite journal |vauthors=Mueller L, Cordes VC, Bischoff FR, Ponstingl H | title = Human RanBP3, a group of nuclear RanGTP binding proteins | journal = FEBS Lett | volume = 427 | issue = 3 | pages = 330–6 |date=July 1998 | pmid = 9637251 | doi =10.1016/S0014-5793(98)00459-1 | s2cid = 28405923 | doi-access = }}{{cite web | title = Entrez Gene: RANBP3 RAN binding protein 3| url = https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez?Db=gene&Cmd=ShowDetailView&TermToSearch=8498}}
This gene encodes a protein with a RanBD1 domain that is found in both the nucleus and cytoplasm. This protein plays a role in nuclear export as part of a heteromeric complex. Alternate transcriptional splice variants, encoding different isoforms, have been characterized.
