Description

As of February 2023, what has been revealed of the REV shows the truck being based on the fifth-generation Ram, sharing much of its exterior and interior styling with the standard internal combustion model.{{Cite web |last=Shakir |first=Umar |date=February 13, 2023 |title=Ram 1500 REV loses the prototype's gimmicks and looks like an electric Ram |url=https://www.theverge.com/2023/2/13/23597710/stellantis-ram-1500-rev-super-bowl-ad-reveal |access-date=February 14, 2023 |website=The Verge |language=en-US}}{{Cite web |title=Ram 1500 REV electric truck photos show it's no design revolution |url=https://www.greencarreports.com/news/1138729_ram-1500-rev-electric-truck-photos |access-date=February 14, 2023 |website=Green Car Reports |language=en}} Most notably altered is the front fascia of the vehicle, to improve aerodynamics as there is no need for a large grille opening. The REV features unique headlights, front bumper, and hood to accommodate the front trunk ("frunk"). The rear of the truck also has unique differences such as taillights that extend onto the tailgate. A single charge port is located on the front left fender of the vehicle, containing a CCS Combo connector and charging status indicator LEDs.{{Cite web |title=Ram 1500 REV {{!}} First-Ever Ram Electric Truck |url=https://www.ramtrucks.com/revolution/ram-1500-rev.html |access-date=February 14, 2023 |website=ramtrucks |language=en-US}}

= Charging Infrastructure =

The Ram 1500 REV supports 800-volt architecture and fast charging up to 350 kW, enabling users to gain 100 miles of range in about 10 minutes. Stellantis is working to expand charging networks to support these capabilities.

Production

Although the premiere of the Ram 1500 REV took place in the first quarter of 2023, and orders for the electric pickup began to be collected right after its debut, the start of production was originally scheduled for the end of 2024. Deliveries of the first finished units to buyers in North America were planned for early 2025, less than 2 years after the presentation.

In December 2024, following changes in the Stellantis management board in response to market conditions, the production start date was again delayed, this time to 2026. In January 2025, it was reported that the long range version of the truck was cancelled in order to redirect attention toward the hybrid variant of the Ram 1500 Ramcharger.{{cite web|title=Ram Reportedly Kills 1500 REV Long Range Electric Pickup|date=18 January 2025 |url=https://www.carscoops.com/2025/01/ram-reportedly-kills-1500-rev-long-range-electric-pickup/|accessdate=20 March 2025}} However, in May 2025, Ram brand CEO Tim Kuniskis announced that production of the REV would again be pushed back to Mid to Late 2027 for the 2028MY.

The Ramcharger is planned for release in 2026.
