Early and personal life
Kleinstein was born in New York City to a family of Ashkenazi Jews in 1962. In 1968, they immigrated to Israel. After a year, the family moved back to the United States before returning to Israel in 1970.[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nBQkpDeidNc ILTV Exclusive Interview with Musician Rami Kleinstein] As a child, he studied piano and classical music after his parents recognized his musical talent and decided to have him trained to be a classical pianist. In his mid-teens, he met and began dating Israeli future singer Rita. Career
In 1986, Rami's first solo album {{Lang|he|{{Script/Hebrew|ביום של הפצצה}}|rtl=yes}} ({{Translation|"On the day of the bomb"}}) achieved gold status. In 1997, his sixth album {{Lang|he|{{Script/Hebrew|כל מה שתרצי}}|rtl=yes}} ({{Translation|"Everything you want"}}) reached triple platinum status within ten days of release. He was voted "Singer of the Year" in 1995, after his album {{Lang|he|{{Script/Hebrew|תפוחים ותמרים}}|rtl=yes}} ({{Translation|"Apples and dates"}}) reached triple platinum.
Since 1985, Rami has been composing, arranging, and accompanying Rita.
