Redneck Zombies was one of the first films shot entirely on videotape and then released to the home-video market (making it a straight-to-video film). Director Pericles Lewnes went on to work as a special effects supervisor on several other Troma productions.{{cite book|last=Stine|first= Scott Aaron|title=The Gorehound's Guide to Splatter Films of the 1980s|publisher=McFarland & Company|year=2015|page=248|ISBN=9781476611327}} William Benson (Pa) went on to become an Emmy-award winning director for NASA.
