Other versions

  • The song was originally recorded by Ray Vernon on Cameo single 109 as the B side of "Evil Angel" in 1957. It was quickly replaced with "I'll take tomorrow today". Since the song was written by Kal Mann & Bernie Lowe this was probably done so as not to take sales away from Pat Boone who was a guerenteed hit maker at the time.Dee Dee Sharp released a version of the song on her 1962 album, It's Mashed Potato Time.{{cite web|title=Dee Dee Sharp, It's Mashed Potato Time|website=AllMusic |url=https://www.allmusic.com/album/its-mashed-potato-time-mw0000869433|accessdate=August 7, 2018}}
