Richard Costa (born 5 January 1992) is an Indian footballer who plays as a midfielder for Churchill Brothers in the I-League. He is currently the captain of the team.

Early life

Costa was born in Navelim, a town in the Indian State of Goa. He began playing football at an early age and played for a local club, Juniors Salunkas, as a child. He idolized Goan footballer and midfielder Climax Lawrence, and began playing in that position. Costa was included in the under-20 side of Churchill Brothers after he impressed the owners of the team who saw him play at a local match.{{cite web |last1=Singh |first1=Pranav |title=From a young boy in Navelim to skipper of Churchill Brothers, in conversation with Richard Costa {{!}} I-League |url=https://i-league.org/from-a-young-boy-in-navelim-to-skipper-of-churchill-brothers-in-conversation-with-richard-costa |publisher=i-league.org |access-date=13 March 2024 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20240313034633/https://i-league.org/from-a-young-boy-in-navelim-to-skipper-of-churchill-brothers-in-conversation-with-richard-costa |archive-date=13 March 2024 |date=8 April 2022}}
