==Controversy==
In 2015, Cardillo invited American men's college basketball coach Bobby Knight, a friend of his from their time at the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York, to deliver an address to the NGA workforce on leadership. Knight visited the agency, and was then accused by four female NGA employees of inappropriate behavior and physical contact. The result was a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and (CID) United States Army Criminal Investigation Division (CID) investigation into the matter. The FBI and CID did not bring charges and Federal authorities closed the cases. The incident was a concern that affected agency employee engagement and morale.{{Cite web|last1=Whitlock|first1=Craig |url=https://www.washingtonpost.com/investigations/fbi-investigated-complaints-that-bobby-knight-groped-women-at-us-spy-agency/2017/07/07/ee1fc318-618f-11e7-8adc-fea80e32bf47_story.html|title=FBI investigated complaints that Bobby Knight groped women at U.S. spy agency|date=July 7, 2017|via=www.washingtonpost.com|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20170708011234/https://www.washingtonpost.com/investigations/fbi-investigated-complaints-that-bobby-knight-groped-women-at-us-spy-agency/2017/07/07/ee1fc318-618f-11e7-8adc-fea80e32bf47_story.html|archive-date=2017-07-08}}
