Samara Private Game Reserve is a 28,300 hectare private game reserve, located near Graaff-Reinet in the Eastern Cape, South Africa.{{cite book|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=cjbe5SWauE4C&dq=Samara+Private+Game+Reserve&pg=PA233 |title=Frommer's South Africa - Pippa de Bruyn|page=233|date=2008-02-26 |access-date=2013-07-22|isbn=9780470241943|last1=De Bruyn|first1=Pippa}} Previously a network of 11 livestock farms, Samara was created in 1997 with the vision to restore the area to its natural state. This is being achieved by slowly rehabilitating the land and reintroducing the natural biodiversity. Samara promotes research on the reserve, and is currently supporting the following research projects:

Tracker Academy
Samara is home to South Africa's first Tracker Academy,{{cite web|url=http://www.trackeracademy.co.za |title=South Africa College of Tourism (SACT) Tracker Academy offers training courses in the skill of wildlife tracking and animal track identification leading to employment in the tourism industry |publisher=The Tracker Academy |access-date=2013-07-22}} aimed at teaching outstanding underprivileged individuals the art of tracking.
