Campaigns
= 2002 =
During his 2002 campaign Haugh also acted as Executive Director of the Libertarian Party of North Carolina.{{cite web|url=http://www.the-dispatch.com/news/20021022/libertarians-raise-funds-with-pinup-calendar|date=October 22, 2002|last=Keesler|first=William|publisher=The Dispatch|title=Libertarians raise funds with pinup calendar|access-date=October 18, 2016}}{{Dead link|date=September 2024 |bot=InternetArchiveBot |fix-attempted=yes }} Haugh helped raise money for Libertarian candidates by helping sell calendars featuring pinups of female Libertarians which were made by fellow Libertarian Rachel Mills, an idea thought up during an informal conversation between Haugh and Mills about fundraising. The calendars were sold for $20 each with Haugh describing all the photographs as "tasteful" and saying the calendar received mostly positive reactions.

Although Haugh had sworn off of politics years earlier he decided to run in 2014 because he couldn't stand the idea of only having a Democrat and a Republican on the ballot.{{cite news|url=https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/meet-sean-haugh-the-libertarian-pizza-guy-who-may-deliver-a-senate-seat-in-nc/2014/07/06/b321c03a-022f-11e4-8572-4b1b969b6322_story.html|title=Meet Sean Haugh, the Libertarian pizza guy who may deliver a Senate seat in N.C.|last1=Tumulty|first1=Karen|last2=Wilson|first2=Reid|date=July 6, 2014|newspaper=The Washington Post}} Haugh became well known for his campaign video where he shares his political platform.{{Cite web|url=http://www.newsobserver.com/news/politics-government/election/article90035572.html|title=How Libertarians are Trying to Build their Party in North Carolina|website=newsandobserver.com|access-date=2016-10-18|publisher=News and Observer}} These videos are filmed from his campaign manager's basement.{{Cite web|url=https://www.npr.org/2014/10/14/356142508/pizza-man-and-other-third-party-candidates-shake-up-tight-senate-races|title=Pizza Man Delivers Third-Party Option|website=NPR.org|access-date=2016-05-29|publisher=NPR}}
During Haugh's 2014 campaign the conservative group American Future Fund funded an online campaign for Haugh.{{cite news|url=https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-politics/wp/2014/10/23/koch-linked-group-launches-pro-weed-campaign-for-north-carolina-libertarian-candidate/|title=Conservative group funds pro-weed campaign for North Carolina Libertarian candidate|last=Gold|first=Matea|newspaper=The Washington Post|date=October 23, 2014}} The ads for the campaign used slogans like "Get Haugh, Get High" and "More Weed, Less War". Though the ads directly supported Haugh the candidate himself has stated
