Shafir ({{langx|he|שָׁפִיר}}) is a moshav in southern Israel. Located in the Shephelah near Kiryat Malakhi, it falls under the jurisdiction of Shafir Regional Council. In {{Israel populations|Year}} it had a population of {{Israel populations|Shafir}}.{{Israel populations|reference}}
History
Shafir was founded on 15 August 1949 by immigrants from Hungary and Czechoslovakia and was built on land that had belonged to the Palestinian village of al-Sawafir al-Sharqiyya,{{Citation|title=All That Remains: The Palestinian Villages Occupied and Depopulated by Israel in 1948|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=_By7AAAAIAAJ |first1=Walid|last1=Khalidi|authorlink=Walid Khalidi|year=1992|location=Washington D.C.|publisher=Institute for Palestine Studies|ISBN=0-88728-224-5|page=135}} which had been depopulated during the 1948 Arab–Israeli War.
