Playing career

After two seasons abroad in Denmark and Austria, with Aalborg Pirates and HC TWK Innsbruck respectively, Sims returned to North America as a free agent to sign a one-year contract with the Toledo Walleye of the ECHL on September 22, 2014.{{cite web| url = http://www.oursportscentral.com/services/releases/?id=4876205 | title = Walleye ink defenseman | website = oursportscentral.com | date = 2014-09-22 | accessdate = 2014-09-22}}
