Shyam Sunder Sikder

Early life and education

Sikder was born on 10 January 1960 in Lonsing village, Naria Upazila, Shariatpur District, East Pakistan, Pakistan.{{Cite web |title=Shyam Sunder new BTRC chairman |url=https://bangladeshpost.net/posts/shyam-sunder-new-btrc-chairman-50690 |access-date=2024-01-17 |website=Bangladesh Post |language=en}} His father was Girendra Mohan Sikder and his mother was Krishnadasi Sikder. Career

Sikder joined Bangladesh Bank in 1984. He joined the Bangladesh Civil Service in 1986.

In 2014, Sikder was appointed secretary of Information and Communication Technology Division of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology. He was later appointed secretary of the Posts and Telecommunications Division in the same ministry. Sikder retired as a senior secretary in January 2019.
