The Similaun ({{IPA|de|zimiˈlaʊn|-|De-at Similaun.ogg}}) is a mountain in the Schnalskamm group of the Ötztal Alps.{{cite book|last=Klier|first=Walter|year=2006|title=Ötztaler Alpen|publisher=Bergverlag Rother|isbn=978-3-7633-1123-1}} It is on the Austrian-Italian border. At 3,599 m, it is Austria's sixth highest summit. It was first ascended in 1834 by Josef Raffeiner and Theodor Kaserer.
