Slow Motion Daydream is the sixth studio album by Everclear. It was released in the U.S. in 2003 on Capitol Records and recorded in 2002.
Production
The first single released to radio from Slow Motion Daydream was "Volvo Driving Soccer Mom",{{Cite magazine |last=Olson |first=Catherine Applefield |date=February 15, 2003 |title=Arena Football, NHRA, Castrol Pacts to Bolster New Everclear Set |url=https://books.google.com/books?id=AQ8EAAAAMBAJ&pg=PA9 |magazine=Billboard |page=9 |volume=115 |issue=7}} followed by second single "The New York Times".
Though the album debuted at number 33 on the Billboard 200 chart, higher than the band's last, it quickly fell off the charts. By July 2004, the album had sold 106,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen Soundscan.{{Cite magazine |author=Billboard Staff |date=2004-07-22 |title=Everclear Singer Headed To DNC |url=https://www.billboard.com/music/music-news/everclear-singer-headed-to-dnc-67230/ |access-date=2022-03-09 |magazine=Billboard |language=en-US}} Spin listed the album as one of 2003's biggest commercial flops.{{Cite magazine |last1=Aaron |first1=Charles |last2=Ganz |first2=Caryn |date=January 2004 |title=Flops of the Year |url=https://books.google.com/books?id=6CTUGqnYjTwC&pg=PA91 |magazine=Spin |publisher=SPIN Media, LLC |volume=20 |issue=1 |page=91}}
This was the last album of new material to feature longtime members Craig Montoya and Greg Eklund who left the band later in August of that year.
