In September 2009, the Baldivis store burned down after an electrical fault started a fire.{{Cite web |last=Thomson |first=Chris |date=2009-09-17 |title=Hot potatoes as Spud Shed burns to ground |url=https://www.watoday.com.au/national/western-australia/hot-potatoes-as-spud-shed-burns-to-ground-20090917-fsml.html |access-date=2025-05-14 |website=WAtoday |language=en}} The store was subsequently rebuilt.{{Cite web |last=Morgan |first=Emily |date=2010-11-18 |title=Spud Shed's fresh challenge to the majors |url=https://www.businessnews.com.au/article/Spud-Shed-s-fresh-challenge-to-the-majors |url-status=dead |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20210918165546/https://www.businessnews.com.au/article/Spud-Shed-s-fresh-challenge-to-the-majors |archive-date=2021-09-18 |access-date=2025-05-14 |website=Business News |language=en}}
