Sulfur dibromide is the chemical compound with the formula {{chem2|SBr2|auto=1}}. It is a toxic gas.
Sulfur dibromide readily decomposes into disulfur dibromide and elemental bromine. In analogy to sulfur dichloride, it hydrolyzes in water to give hydrogen bromide, sulfur dioxide and elemental sulfur.
{{chem2|SBr2}} can be prepared by reacting {{chem2|SCl2}} with HBr, but due to its rapid decomposition it cannot be isolated at standard conditions. Instead, the more stable {{chem2|S2Br2}} is obtained.{{cite book|last1=Wiberg|first1=Egon|last2=Holleman|first2=A.
