;Lead
- "...for the Atari Video Computer System (Atari VCS)." - I am curious as to why the console's common name (Atari 2600) isn't used?
: I don't think there is specific preference for this. I am sort of just leaning towards historical terms here, i.e: at the time of release in terms of promotion, reception, the system was still being referred to as the Atari Video Computer System. I understand that it may be good to have consistency here, but I feel like the hatnote covers any quibbling issues with it. Andrzejbanas (talk) 16:28, 23 June 2025 (UTC)
- "Inspired by the game Combat that was in development at the same time" - add the year of release in brackets, as the others follow suit.
: Done. Andrzejbanas (talk) 16:28, 23 June 2025 (UTC)
- I noticed that the lead is missing a summary on the reception.
:: I'm struggling to write a strong "catch-all" elements of the review. All the reviews I've found of the game seem to be a bit back and forth on what made it good, and I don't really like saying "it received positive reviews" when we're pulling from such a small sample size in both terms of retrospective and contemporary reviews. I think that's why I just placed the award which sort of just signifies that the game was considered good enough in these field of "Target" games to have this recognition. Open to suggestions of how to expand this beyond that. Andrzejbanas (talk) 16:28, 23 June 2025 (UTC)
:::Thanks, and I see the point. Given the small sample size of reviews we have to work with here, the lead's summary is as good as it can be. In any case, it's fine for GA. Jaguar (talk) 19:28, 24 June 2025 (UTC)
;Body
- "Each game involves the player firing a gun at various objects for points. Each game in ends after two minutes" - repetition of 'each game'. This can be safely merged or rephrased
: Combined. Andrzejbanas (talk) 16:28, 23 June 2025 (UTC)
- "In "Anti-Aircraft Games", the joystick controls the angle of your anti-aircraft gun" - unencyclopaedic; use {{xt|the player's}}
: Updated. Andrzejbanas (talk) 16:28, 23 June 2025 (UTC)
- "The remaining modes has the player ship or plane moving continuously" - typo
: Fixed (I believe!) Andrzejbanas (talk) 16:28, 23 June 2025 (UTC)
- "which sent their assembly code to the a computer in Oakland that would convert it to binary code" - is this referring to Oakland, California?
: I'm not sure, the source simply says "Oakland". :/ Andrzejbanas (talk) 16:28, 23 June 2025 (UTC)
- "Kaplan tried to give the computer controlled opponent Artificial intelligence" - 'artificial' doesn't need to be capitalised
:: Fixed. Andrzejbanas (talk) 16:28, 23 June 2025 (UTC)
- "According to Weekly Television Digest from October 17, 1977, the Atari VCS was shipped to all major market areas by August 1977" - which market areas? Overseas?
:: American in this case. Andrzejbanas (talk) 16:28, 23 June 2025 (UTC)
Overall a solid article, well researched. Will leave on hold until the above are clarified. {{icon|GAH}} Jaguar (talk) 16:27, 21 June 2025 (UTC)
:{{ping|Andrzejbanas}} I think you might have missed this one? Jaguar (talk) 16:14, 23 June 2025 (UTC)
:: Hey Hey. I believe I went through most items here. Andrzejbanas (talk) 16:28, 23 June 2025 (UTC)
::: Haha. nah, just had a few things to catch up on. I've updated it and asked some questions here to clarify. Andrzejbanas (talk) 16:28, 23 June 2025 (UTC)
::::Thanks for addressing them, Andrzejbanas! Let's get this one promoted. It was a good one to read through. {{icon|GA}} Jaguar (talk) 19:28, 24 June 2025 (UTC)
