I'll grab this one.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 15:37, 1 March 2024 (UTC)

  • Thank you for looking at this. TwoScars (talk) 20:02, 1 March 2024 (UTC)
  • Images appropriately licensed
  • Any pictures of the battlefield available?
  • Not really. The site where Siber's men first encountered Loring is the back of a Walmart. There are some drawings (in a recent book) that I have not been able to find elsewhere. There was a Fort Scammon in Fayetteville, which is not Wikipedia's Fort Scammon in Charleston. I put the Narrows and Gauley Bridge images in to give the reader somewhat of an idea of the appearance of the countryside. TwoScars (talk) 16:38, 16 March 2024 (UTC)
  • In the Aftermath section, it already says "Today, the battlefield at Fayetteville is now covered by a modern town.[92] Fayetteville has historical markers commemorating the 1862 battle and a second battle that occurred in 1863." I'm going to drop the "now", since the sentence begins with "Today". TwoScars (talk) 20:53, 16 March 2024 (UTC)
  • Ranks are only used on first appearance for each individual

:* Will fix (after lunch). As info, I have had reviewers that were not familiar with the Civil War complain that they got confused, and they asked that I restate ranks, names and allegiance in new sections. TwoScars (talk) 16:55, 16 March 2024 (UTC)

:* Fixed. TwoScars (talk) 15:23, 17 March 2024 (UTC)

  • Once an individual's allegiance is established, there's no need to repeat it

:* Fixed. TwoScars (talk) 15:23, 17 March 2024 (UTC)

  • {{xt|to form a junction with}} awkward, rephrase

:* Changed to "...and then move northeast to join forces with more Confederate soldiers in the...."

  • Union Army should be capitalized as it's a proper name

:* Changed to Union Army in three places including section header. Changed "Confederate army" to "Confederate Army" in four places. TwoScars (talk) 16:47, 16 March 2024 (UTC)

  • {{xt|on the pike}} use a synonym for variety's sake

:* Changed to "on the road". TwoScars (talk) 16:50, 16 March 2024 (UTC)

  • More later--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 01:35, 16 March 2024 (UTC)
  • I will be out of the office Monday March 18—probably most of Tuesday too. TwoScars (talk) 21:23, 17 March 2024 (UTC)
  • {{xt|Lightburn's two brigades escaped from Charleston}} Suggest "His forces escaped..."
  • Made change. TwoScars (talk) 18:35, 20 March 2024 (UTC)
  • {{xt|from the Bryan's}} Delete "the"
  • Removed "the" TwoScars (talk) 18:37, 20 March 2024 (UTC)
  • Use Lowry's first name when you mention him in the last paragraph
  • Inserted "Terry" in front of "Lowry's research...."
  • Be sure to capitalize Infantry when you mention the specific Ohio regiments--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 13:45, 18 March 2024 (UTC)
  • Looks like you already fixed that one. Looks like "Infantry" is now capitalized everywhere except "several companies of infantry" and "Union infantry arriving". TwoScars (talk) 18:46, 20 March 2024 (UTC)
  • Check the notes--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 19:01, 20 March 2024 (UTC)
  • Made changes in final paragraph and note - capitalize "infantries", made some changes related to the mention of Historian Terry Lowry. TwoScars (talk) 01:59, 22 March 2024 (UTC)
  • {{Re|Sturmvogel 66}} I'm back in my office and I believe caught up. TwoScars (talk) 18:48, 20 March 2024 (UTC)
