Can we delete the 2007 list?-DANO- (talk) 21:10, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
:Quite the opposite. Wouldn't it be more interesting to add 2006, and then 2005? Eventually we could have a chart going all the way back to 1957 (when the data stops). I'm happy to work on it with you, if you like. Kingturtle (talk) 21:15, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
:If we added one year's worth of data a week, we'd get it done in a year. Kingturtle (talk) 00:48, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
:::Back to my first question.-DANO- (talk) 23:45, 31 January 2009 (UTC)
No, we should not delete the 2007 list. This is an encyclopedia Kingturtle (talk) 23:55, 31 January 2009 (UTC)
:I think the lists are trivial and should be removed. 71.251.47.180 (talk) 22:41, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
Classification and Article Direction
I reassessed this article to a high-importance stub article. (It was a list). It is currently written as if it were a list article, but I do not believe it should be. A new article could be created titled "lists of cleanup hitters" or something I guess (why? WP:N), but an article about cleanup hitters should discuss the statistical and believed importance of the number 4 position in the batting order, its historical and contemporary use, what kind of prototypical batter would be a good cleanup hitter, etc. Aaron north (talk) 03:18, 14 October 2010 (UTC)

Use of the word "Hitter" is presumptuous
Until the person at home plate swinging the bat gets a hit, he is a batter, not a hitter. The use of the word "hitter" has been misused for the last 40 years. As a kid growing up in the 60's and 70's they were always the "batter". Those that use hitter in place of batter are ignorant. Every time I hear the announcer say the hitter on deck is blah-blah, I can't help but think how sad it is that our language has been so bastardized. 73.18.76.43 (talk) 01:55, 14 May 2025 (UTC)
