Possible vandalism

Someone wrote, beneath the website link, that the airline is "probably going bankrupt and out of business". It is completely nonsense. Besides, no sources were listed. That's why I deleted it.

That was most likely for VARIG. That was going out of business and GOL bought it. Username006 (talk) 09:12, 27 August 2021 (UTC)

Airline Alliance

Even though it does not belong to an Airline Alliance, it has a relationship with Delta, in which their members can credit Frequent Flyer points respectively - More info available at http://www.delta.com/content/www/en_US/skymiles/earn-miles/earn-miles-with-partners/airlines.html — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tomasdev (talkcontribs) 16:16, 10 April 2017 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: Not moved, per MOS:CAPS a substantial majority of sources would be required to justify uppercasing. No such user (talk) 07:45, 8 October 2021 (UTC)

– Should we get the capitalisation correct? It was mostly called as GOL and not Gol. For e.g. we call LATAM Brasil with the capitalisation and not Latam Brasil. Username006 (talk) 09:05, 27 August 2021 (UTC)— Relisting. Havelock Jones (talk) 08:47, 20 September 2021 (UTC)

  • Weak Oppose Don't really see evidence that it should capitalized. The Portuguese version [https://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gol_Linhas_A%C3%A9reas_Inteligentes pt] has it in lower case. If you can provide evidence, it would be welcome. Walrasiad (talk) 22:03, 28 August 2021 (UTC)

{{ping|Walrasiad}} The website says it is GOL: [https://www.voegol.com.br/en]

Also, the English wikipage itself has it all in the Capitalisation. Username006 (talk) 06:45, 29 August 2021 (UTC)

Same thing goes for Varig. It should be VARIG and not Varig. And to be honest, I would like it for UNI air too. Username006 (talk) 10:29, 6 September 2021 (UTC)

  • Weak Oppose both GOL and Gol are in use; note [https://www.reuters.com/business/aerospace-defense/brazilian-airline-gol-operate-250-electric-air-taxis-by-2025-2021-09-21/ a Reuters piece from today]. We should prefer the non-stylized one, GOL is not an acronym. User:力 (power~enwiki, π, ν) 17:04, 21 September 2021 (UTC)

{{ping|力}} Just because it isn't an acronym doesn't mean it's incorrect. As far as I know, The 'LOT' in LOT Polish Airlines is also not an acronym. Username006 (talk) 17:54, 22 September 2021 (UTC)

  • Oppose. The "LOT" in the Polish airline is almost never rendered sentence case in sources, whereas the "Gol" here quite often does appear uncapitalised. Therefore the two articles are not comparable, and MOS:CAPS dictates that we should not use sentence case unless a substantital majority of sources do otherwise.  — Amakuru (talk) 09:58, 7 October 2021 (UTC)
