:What the problem here?

On September 18, 2014 the New York Daily News reported that federal sources had told NBC that the probe had found no links to Christie.

On September 20, 2014 the New York Daily News reported that

"On Thursday, Williams said on NBC Nightly News that federal authorities had cleared the governor of involvement in the scandal surrounding the George Washington Bridge lane closures. An NBC spokeswoman said Williams used an 'unscripted line.'".

There appears to be no reason to include the the removed statement, because it certainly would have be followed up by a another that the claim made made NBC was retracted two days later. Why do wish to include this irrelevant non-story in this article? Djflem (talk) 22:02, 11 November 2014 (UTC)

A number of sources reported that federal investigations had thus far found no evidence of involvement by Christie (but made no claim that the investigation was completed). At the same time, Brian Williams of NBC Nightly News reported that the investigations had cleared Christie of any wrongdoing. William's statement implied that the investigations were completed. William's then later retracted his statement that the investigations had cleared Christie of any wrongdoing (and the implication that the investigations were complete). However Williams's retraction of his statement had no bearing on the reports by other sources that federal investigators had thus far found no evidence of involvement by Christie.CFredkin (talk) 23:42, 11 November 2014 (UTC)
