According to the US Soccer website the white kits are home and the gold kits are away. It's reversed in the article. Please fix this.

Today in the U-20 World Cup the US, playing as the visitor versus Republic of Korea, wore blue shirts and blue shorts. He lost one game...To Brazil. In world football a penalty shootout loss or victory is recorded as a draw. The match is "drawn" and a shootout is used to determine the winner. Yet the result of the game....is still a draw. Furthermore, there are infinite sources which show that Ryan lost one game to Brazil, and not a single one that says he lost two. Under the listing of current players, the "clubs" section doesn't list current clubs, but rather former colleges. This differs from the standard of other national teams. I understand that most of these players don't play for any professional club. In that case this section should be blank, but it's misleading to call your alma mater your current club. I have two questions. First: does anyone know if there is an assistant coach for the women's team? The link to the coach staff page on USSoccer.com is dead and I have no way of finding out.

Second: is there an accepted team nickname? The Olympics.com team page said "The Stars and Stripes," but I've never really heard that used. Could we list the team's FIFA ranking? According to FIFA's site, the team is ranked #1 in the world. Should that be mentioned!?

This is the incorrect logo, as the women have won 2 World Cups (as of the 2011 World Cup) and should have 2 stars on the top of their team crest. You can see it on their uniforms. Is there something I am missing...I've never heard an elimination game with an absolute advancing team called a draw. They did not draw Brazil...they won with a shootout. In fact everywhere I looked for other teams then WON the same way they are denoted as Wins. A game that goes to penalties is a drawn match. To quote the Penalty shoot-out (association football) article on the matter, " Strictly speaking, kicks from the penalty mark do not result in a match winner. The match remains a draw and the result of the kicks is merely used to select a winner to progress to the next stage of the tournament (or win it in the case of the final). However, in popular usage a team is often said to have "won on penalties", and such matches have their result recorded as (for example): "Team A 2–2 Team B pens., Team B won 5–4 on penalties"." As of February 17, 2016, Carli Lloyd has scored 85, not 86, international goals. Let me resurrect the issue of nicknames, previously raised by Eightball (see above). There should be established use of a nickname in published media before it is listed. At this time, for example, the USMNT page identifies three nicknames, and links to references for each one. The USWNT page ought to follow the same standard. Some of the nicknames that have been listed do not turn up a single time under an internet search, and indeed there have been cases of outright vandalism. 173.50.127.215 (talk) 11:56, 14 April 2016 (UTC)

The infobox says August 18th, 1985, while the article text says August 12th, 1985. Neither date has a source attached to it. With a bit of digging I came up with http://www.rsssf.com/tablesm/mundialito-women.html#1985 , which is linked as a source on Mundialito (women), and that says August 18th. I therefore have changed the article text date to August 18th.

WP:FOOTY has discussed and decided several times that team rosters should not indicate a player's injury status— neither with the INJ abbreviation nor with the File:Cruz Roja.svg logo. These indicators are excessively detailed and violate WP:RECENTISM and MOS:TEXTASIMAGES. See Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Football/Archive_41#Injury_logo and Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Football/Archive_43#Injury_icons_in_rosters. I have removed them from this article and explained why in the edit summary. User:Tomrtn keep trying to add them back in, but without any edit summaries and when I raised this issue on his talk page he simply deleted without comment. As seen in Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Football/Archive_146#User:Bergenoslo this seems like a subject that doesn't have a consensus. I am not stating that the tone of the messages in that discussion are in any way correct, but am saying that as recent as August 2021, many football editors feel the representation of INJ on a withdrawn player is appropriate for the national team because it reflects current status. I understand the Recentism discussion, but isn't that what player call-up lists are, a recent change to the national team's roster? Which in itself is a potential violation of recentism. But, I am sure we are not suggesting we don't have the current roster. All the rest of the discussion seem to revolve around the logo, which I am not suggesting we bring back. I changed the color scheme in the World Cup and Olympics tables. See the before and after below for the World Cup tables. The advantage of the new version is that the table is easier to read — i.e., it's much easier to read a table with black font on white background that it is to read on a multicolor background. And the gold/silver/bronze coloring scheme is still maintained in the Result column, so readers still get the visual color cue. I see this new version as having clear advantages and no disadvantages. There is only one source given, a passing mention in the online glossary, but I have not seen significant coverage of this chant in the USWNT books I own or in most coverage I can search up online. The CONCACAF W Championship isn't the same as the CONCACAF W Gold Cup. The infobox or whatever it's called at the top right treats them as the same tournament. The Gold Cup is a separate tournament. ACCH (talk) 14:42, 16 August 2024 (UTC)
