SDF and ISIS
Firstly, The Nour al-Din Zenki Movement is actively involved in the Afrin operation this a fact it's on the ORBAT page for Afrin and as a member of SLF this carries over.
Secondly, Both groups Ahrar al-Sham and the Zenki movement are strong opponents of ISIS and have been involved in numerous clashes against them this hostility doesn't just end.
:The NYT source you added [https://www.nytimes.com/2018/02/04/world/middleeast/turkey-afrin-syria.html] and the one in Arabic [http://www.almodon.com/arabworld/2018/1/21/%D9%87%D9%84-%D8%AA%D9%86%D8%AC%D8%AD-%D8%BA%D8%B5%D9%86-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B2%D9%8A%D8%AA%D9%88%D9%86-%D8%A8%D8%A5%D8%AC%D8%A8%D8%A7%D8%B1-%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%88%D8%AD%D8%AF%D8%A7%D8%AA-%D8%B9%D9%84%D9%89-%D8%AA%D8%B3%D9%84%D9%8A%D9%85-%D8%B9%D9%81%D8%B1%D9%8A%D9%86] date to before the start of the SLF; it doesn't make any sense to include them. The SLF seems to be a localized merger anyways, so whether or not AAS is involved in Afrin is immaterial. David O. Johnson (talk)
