History

Target Optical was founded by the Cole National Corporation in 1995{{cite web|title=COLE NATIONAL CORP. - The Encyclopedia of Cleveland History|url=http://ech.case.edu/cgi/article.pl?id=CNC|website=Encyclopedia of Cleveland History|accessdate=27 March 2015}} in Cleveland, Ohio. In 2004, the Cole National Corporation was acquired by the Italian Luxottica S.p.A. along with other Cole National Corporation holdings such as Pearle Vision.
