Template talk:Australian party style#Template-protected edit request on 21 April 2025

How are the colours for various parties chosen? Some of the choices made for this list appear to be inappropriate.

For example, the colour assigned to the right-wing party Pauline Hanson's One Nation is very similar to that assigned to the centre-left Australian Labor Party as well as those assigned to the various left-wing socialist parties on the list. I doubt any of the latter would consider it appropriate to assign One Nation a similar shade to their own parties, as though they were somehow related.

In the example just given, why isn't the party's colour as shown on the party's main page used instead? If that colour is already assigned to another party, at the very least shouldn't a similar shade be used rather than one chiefly associated with a group of political factions it disagrees with?

Include the newly-registered party: Indigenous-Aboriginal Party of Australia

There abbreviation is Indigenous Party of Australia. There colours, as far as I can see from there website, are green and orange/yellow. MarioBayo (talk) 13:25, 30 November 2021 (UTC)

Could the following templates change their colour to #ED0B21? This keeps the Independent Labor/Labour categories in line with the same colour as Labor/Labour - just as Independent Liberal is the same as Liberal and Independent Greens are the same as Greens

Democratic Labour Party (DLP)/Labour DLP are officially registered in Victoria.

Template provides for:

"DLP" in Teal colours.

"DLP QLD" (Teal)

"Democratic Labor" (Orange)

"Democratic Labour" (Orange)

"Democratic Labour Party" (Orange)

Can we please have an entry for "Labour DLP" as this is what they primarily identify themselves as.

And to standardise the colour, I suggest #fccc04 (another Orange) from their logo.

Description of suggested change:

For Australian Citizens Party, change colour to #18498C which is derived from their logo. List #F5EB0B as another colour on the party's wikipedia page, like what is done for the Liberterian Party where they have 2 colours. The ACP's current colour of #4A412A does not match their branding at all and needs to be updated.

::Someone undid your edits, which I believe to be a mistake. They cited in their revert reason "the party colour on here doesn't need to be an exact copy of the official logo" but I am confused as to why exactly this would be a problem? Since this provides a more accurate reflection of the party colours. The ACP's media publishing and website materials also do not feature their current 'Green-Brown' colour at all on anything.
