Thomas Macarthy

Thomas George Macarthy ({{circa|1834}} – 19 August 1912) was a New Zealand brewer and benefactor. He was born in London, England, in about 1834 and died in 1912 in Wellington, New Zealand.{{DNZB|title=Thomas George Macarthy|first= G. R.|last= Hawke|id=2m2|accessdate=23 April 2017}}

He died childless and his substantial business interests were put into a trust for educational purposes.{{Cite web|url=https://www.publictrust.co.nz/grants/how-do-i-find-one/grants/thomas-george-macarthy-trust|title=Thomas George Macarthy Trust - Public Trust|website=www.publictrust.co.nz}} When prohibition was an issue in the 1920s, the trust's continued maintenance of his brewing business was attacked by Robert Stout.
