Thylacoptila paurosema is a species of moth of the family Pyralidae. It has a wide range and is found on the Canary Islands,[https://web.archive.org/web/20160304221030/http://www.faunaeur.org/full_results.php?id=441775 Fauna Europaea] Cabo Verde, Ethiopia, Ghana, Réunion, Saudi Arabia, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Namibia, South Africa, Yemen,[http://www.afromoths.net/species_by_code/THYLPAUR Afro Moths] Madagascar, Indonesia, Burma, Malaysia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, India and Ascension Island.

The larvae are a pest of cashew and mango.
