Club career

International career

Considered as one of the most promising Vietnamese defenders after the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup, Đình Trọng accomplished several successes in his early career. He played a crucial role on Vietnam U23's runner-up campaign at the 2018 AFC U-23 Championship, and later achieved the 2018 AFF Championship title with Vietnam seniors.
